Stoke on Trent mainline railway station. Newcastle bus and coach
station is within easy walking distance, for guests wishing to
explore the district by public transport. The major cities of
Birmingham and Manchester may be easily reached in well under
an hour by car, or by train from Stoke on Trent.
By car:
FROM THE NORTH, TRAVELLING ON THE M6
Leave the M6 at Junction 16. Take first exit off roundabout signposted
Stoke (N) A500. Follow A500 for approximately 6 miles (ignore
A34 Newcastle exit). Take slip road signed A53 Leek, City Centre
and Newcastle-under-Lyme. Use the right hand lane and turn right
at roundabout, following signs for Newcastle-under-Lyme A53 and
brown tourist sign for the Hotel. Proceed along the A53 for about
half a mile, through 2 sets of traffic lights passing the New
Victoria Theatre on your right. The Hotel is situated on the left,
about 200 yards after the second set of traffic lights. The turning
into the Hotel car park is immediately before the building.
FROM THE SOUTH, TRAVELLING ON THE M6
Leave M6 at Junction 15. Ignoring A519, go straight ahead onto
A500 signposted Stoke-on-Trent. After 1 mile turn left onto A34
signposted Newcastle. Travel 2 miles on A34, passing Springfields
Retail Park and Hospital. At roundabout, take 4th exit to join
Newcastle town centre ring road. Pass Bus Station on left and
take 4th exit at next roundabout, signed Leek & Hanley A53 - note
brown tourist sign to Hotel. Keep to the left-hand lane and the
Hotel is on your right, just after traffic lights. The Hotel car
park entrance is situated immediately after the building.
By train:
Travel to Stoke on Trent railway station. The journey by taxi
from the station to the hotel should take no more than 10 minutes.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Guests from outside the UK, please note that Newcastle-under-Lyme
should not be confused with Newcastle-upon-Tyne, which is more
than 100 miles away. It has been known for travellers to Newcastle-upon-Tyne
addresses to arrive in Newcastle-under-Lyme and vice versa.
